The students working there are all members of the Political Science Campaigns and Elections class, instructed by Nick Brown.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the students manned a laptop and helped Goucher students register to vote or request absentee ballots online.
The Sarah Hughes Foundation provided the funds for the stamps, paper, and other supplies necessary for the project.
The project has helped an estimated 25% of Goucher's student body gain the means to participate in this year's election.
Junior Dan Jenkins said, "Our class has helped substantially increase the voter turnout at Goucher College by providing the valuable service of not only helping students register to vote, but helping them request absentee ballots as well."
"A crucial part of the project was to remain non-partisan, and I think we did that exceptionally well, especially considering the political atmosphere at Goucher," said senior Morgan Cashwell, referring to the overwhelming liberal leaning of the Goucher population.
Brown's class is also very thankful to all the people and organizations that helped make the project possible.
"Every office at Goucher was extremely helpful, CTLT [Center for Learning, Teaching, and Technology], the SAO [Student Activities Office], the administration in general, everyone was very encouraging and supportive," said Cashwell.
All in all, the class helped a substantial amount of Goucher's student population activate their own voices in the crucial upcoming presidential election.
