So you thought Uggs went out last year with the first sign of summer? Well, they are back new and improved, coming in new styles and colors. Feet can now be outfitted in cute shades like baby blue, powder pink, red, and lavender. Not only are they cute, but your feet will thank you for keeping them toasty warm on your walk to your 8:30 morning class.
A perfect companion to the Uggs boots for the fall is the mini skirt. These skirts can be found in tweed, khaki, and denim. Abercrombie and Fitch carries the perfect example of the mini skirt for $ 49.50, which is a small price to pay for looking good. A word of caution for those daring enough to show off your legs, those windy autumn days might cause some unwanted exposure. A smart investment would be a pair of mini shorts for a little extra protection underneath the skirt. For those who are not exhibitionists, tights or leggings are quite popular this season in different colors and patterns. This is a great way to stay warm and stylish.
To keep your head warm, look no further than Goucher's own sophomore Emily Epstein, who crochets beautiful hats. Epstein says, "I love making hats, it keeps me from freaking out over my extreme workload." If you would like one of your very own homemade hats for a minimal fee email Emily at eepstein@goucher.edu.
Last but certainly not least, are the men's fall fashions. The key for guys this season is to keep your wardrobe simple. (HINT: the key is to not look like you tried.) Your wardrobe should consist of a polo collared shirt, a pair of khakis, and either brown boots or Birkenstock clogs. For those who like to march to the beat of their own drummer, as long as you are clean, you will always be in style.
On a final note, this should be made perfectly clear: legwarmers are outdated! Being warm is not an excuse for being a fashion victim. Hopefully you will follow our advice and stay true to yourself. It is actually fun being a slave to fashion!
